Otherwise, SFO Airporter is providing ground transportation services between SFO and major San Francisco hotels. Its mini-sized motorcoach operates every 30 minutes (from 5:10 AM to 10:40 PM) from SFO and Hyatt Regency. No reservations are required; the fare is $10 one-way for adults. Taxi and limo services are also available at SFO. Taxi fare from SFO to Hyatt Regency is about $30 to 35.

  • Oakland International Airport (OAK) is 25 miles from downtown San Francisco. Major carriers include Alaska Air, America West, Delta, Southwest and United. Oakland advertises itself as the Bay Area's Value Airport. There are a number of shuttle services that can whisk you from Oakland to San Francisco. Oakland is a good starting point if your trip includes Napa, YosemiteOakland is a good starting point if your trip includes Napa, Yosemite, Sequoia, Lake Tahoe or other points east of San Francisco.
  • San Jose International Airport (SJC) is about 60 miles south of San Francisco. Major carriers include, American, Alaska, United, Southwest, Continental, and TWA. Free Aiport Flyer buses run regularly every 10-15 minutes between the airport and the nearest train station. San Jose is a good starting point if your trip includes Monterey, Carmel or any other areas south of the city. Rent a car in San Jose, make your trip south, then return it to San Francisco and take a shuttle into the city. Most car rental companies do not make an extra drop-off charge for San Jose pickup and San Francisco return, but be sure to ask.

Cable cars are available directly outside of Hyatt Regency. Take them to go to Union Square, Fisherman's Wharf and Van Ness Avenue. Tickets for $2 per ride or $6 for an all-day-pass can be purchased at the Concierge Desk on the Atrium Level or on the car.
